The Little Red Hen

When she was younger,
Sophia's favorite book was
The Little Red Hen.

I think I have it memorized.
"Not I, said the pig.
Not I, said the fox.
Not I, said ....the other animal that I can't think of."

It's a good thing that I work so hard.
Because my memory stinks.

Duck, was it duck?

Man, I read that story at least a thousand times.

I love that book too... that is one I need to get from my Grammy book shelf.

I love that you captured the message on the church sign.

That was one of my favorite books as a kid. I was just thinking about it the other day in fact.

We did a whole FHE based on this book. I got the idea one summer morning when I couldn't get my girls to help me pick strawberries in our backyard. They love to eat my homemade strawberry jam...but aren't too excited about helping me pick 'em.

Part of my job is taking the advanced readers in first grade to read out of a second grade reading program. This was the story I had them reading for reading group, we then answered questions about the story.
