I am not sure what is making me so grateful.
It may be living 24 hours a day with a very hyper 17 month old.
Or the fact that I am now the mother of a teenager.
Or that I have a daughter exactly like me who could talk non-stop all day.
Or the cheers and incantations that my only quiet child has felt loyal to practicing.
Tonight, LG is getting a sleep study.
I can't wait until he gets his C-pap machine.
There's nothing like a c-pap'd husband that can make a woman feel old.
For some reason, that just made me think the man was getting his yearly vaginal exam.
What is that? Not c-pap. But some other form of pap.
So, tonight, I am grateful for peace and quiet.
Because it may not be too much longer that I will enjoy this luxury through the night.
(Insert the sound of c-pap)
But really, I have found serenity.
In peace and quiet.
And I long for it.
Even if I only get it for a few short hours during nap time and before I conk out in bed at night.
(Insert the sound of c-pap) that made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has one, and it really isnt that loud. The old ones sound like darth vadar, but the newer ones are quiet. And, you will find after a few days, that it is SO worth the noise, because he will be a happier, kinder man. There is nothing like a lengthy bout of sleep deprivation that can make a man GRUMPY! yup, I would know. ..
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! That time is so precious!
ReplyDeleteDang Alice, I wanted to do his sleep study! Hope all goes well and that he adjusts to a CPAP easily. It's something you have to get use to, like wearing a retainer almost. Soon he'll wonder how he ever did without it!...
ReplyDelete...wearing a retainer that is, as far as something feeling foreign for a while...not that he is wearing a CPAP retainer....? hehe, I don't believe they have those.....yet! :D ...though they do have different type of bite guards for grinding teeth (bruxism)....hehe :) anyway, I'll stop.....oh wait, one last thing. Okay, never mind. Bye.
ReplyDeleteMiss Alice...
ReplyDeleteif your hubby needs it... I hope he uses it. Tony has sleep apnea and is NON-compliant.
Good Luck!
It was easy for me to insert the sound... cause I remember even though it was short lived. But Tony also sleeps with a fan year round for white noise and I think its alot like that.
