In my church we have modern day scripture called
The Book of Mormon is compilation
of Native American prophets.
The climax of the book is when Christ
appears to the Native American people.
Here is a powerful video depiction
of this written sacred event.
You can read about it here.
One reason, many Christian religions
say that Mormons are not Christian
is because of this Book of Mormon.
It pains me
because The Book of Mormon
brings me closer to Christ.
It helps me learn of Him.
One of my favorite verses from
The Book of Mormon
is
2 Nephi 25:26.
The words of Nephi, the prophet, are this:
"And we talk of Christ,
we rejoice in Christ,
we preach of Christ,
we prophesy of Christ,
and we write according to our prophecies,
that our children may know
to what source
they may look for a remission of their sins."
Another of my favorite verses is
Ether 12:27
"And if men come unto me
I will show unto them their weakness
I give unto men weakness
that they may be humble;
and my grace is sufficient
for all men
that humble themselves before me;
for if they humble themselves before me,
and have faith in me,
then will I make weak things
become strong unto them."
How powerful is that?
It's a beautiful promise
that soothes the soul
of this imperfect woman.
And I am not the only one
who has felt the power
of this verse.
I can't wait to show this video to my family tonight.

I guess you wrote the article in the Ensign this month on sharing what you believe with your friends online.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are not afraid to share what you believe in.
ToOdLeS.
Love your post, the Ether scripture is one of my very favorite.
ReplyDeleteYou're turning into MY MOM! That
ReplyDelete2Nephi scripture is her favorite too. (remember how I always say she is getting all 2nd Nephi on me?) Now you'll just have to change from Red to Blue and you'll be all set lol!
The last verse reminds me of one of my favorite verses from the New Testament....
ReplyDelete"To keep me from becoming conceited because of these suprisingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ power may rest on me. That is why for Christ sake I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecution, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:1-10)
This has been my saving grace when I felt like I had to be perfect. I realized that if I were perfect there would be no need for Christ & no chance for him to be glorified. So I accept my weaknesses now & allow him to be strong for me.
